Jay Syverson a man from Seattle began playing rock, blues music in the 60’s and 70’s. For many years what he refers to “real life” kept him away from what he was passionate about. When the year 2004 approached, vacation from Hawaii was his time to pick up his guitar again, he attended a festival called “slack key” where many of the top musicians where featured in the field. Although the music seemed to come easily to him, he attended many guitar cams on the Island of Molokai sponsored and taught by slack-key greats such as Keola Beamer, Sonny Lim and Kevin Brown. Ever since his experience then, he says “the tunes began falling out of my guitar”. Luckily he recorded his early hard working compositions. With patience and untold hours of experimenting, the twelve original tracks of his album “Walkin’ on the Jetty” has been developed. The twelve tracks were composed, performed, recorded and mixed by the recorded label name of Spinning Dolphin Music. The album was inspired by his experience at the slack key along with the influence from his years of playing blues and rock and roll music. All of it is played from the heart.
